Shared Online Media Archive

SOMA is a collaboration between several NGOs to create an online media archive for use by community media centres.
Examples of implementations are OneWorld Radio and TV and CMA's Showcase. SOMA is a module written for eZPublish CMS 2.x. (http://ez.no)

oneworld tv logo

OneWorldTV was developed using eZPublish 2 and SOMA.

OneWorldTV is an open platform for sharing videos on issues affecting people around the world. Established in 1991, OneWorldTV forms part of OneWorld.net – a network of over 1200 partner organisations harnessing the internet to promote human rights and sustainable development.

GUMI

This Media CMS is designed to work with Metadata for the Semantic Web. Currently there is activity to develop tools which use Dublin Core Metadata and variations like SOMA.

It embeds RDF data in to each page containing Media content.

It is designed for community groups with low access to resources.

It is written in PHP for MySQL databases on Apache.

This version uses a subset of SOMA. It also incorporates Creative Commons Metadata to embed the Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 2.0 licence.
